With six down and four still standing in the top adventure reality TV show- Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS V), currently bringing excitement to millions of homes across Africa and beyond, everyday on popular national and cable networks, it has become necessary to ask who emerges the ultimate last man or woman standing at the end of the day. Will a woman win GUS for the first time, this year? Let keep our fingers crossed as the show, enters its critical and final stage.

Still standing are two ‘Heroes of the Order’, Frank and Mike and two Heroines, Linda and Phyna. And with the jungle now very matured, they no longer look the same like when they entered the undulating Hills of Awgu, Enugu state, for the search of the “Lost Chronicle”. Clean shaven Frank and Mike are now wearing over grown bears. Phyna has since uprooted the attachment she has on her hair. She now wears the Yoruba traditional hair-do, called didi, “Simbi is a girl” as it has been nick named. She was seen on the programme last night, helping Linda to also cut off her flowering beautiful weave-on which has become very unkempt and has accumulated more than enough dirt. It obviously stinks, having been seriously beaten by the rains during the previous day’s task. She was seriously mocked at by Mike and Frank who classified the removal of the weave on as “the unmasking of Linda”. She even has an improvised ear rings from tiny fruits from a plant in the jungle on. Frank helped her to fix it.

The cooking spoon now serves as mirror for the ladies. Their make-ups faded away the very hour they entered the jungle from Mmaku-Enugu road junction. Obviously, the beautiful ones are not found in the jungle. Next, their clothes may soon begin to give way to the thorns and harsh condition of the jungle. “Na dis one dem dey call ‘jungle don mature’ remarked Frank as he browses through his ‘Awgu hills nurtured bears’.

As for their Green Hills camp, it is nothing to report home about. It has been seriously messed up. Anyway, the contestants still keep fate with their favourite teams- up Chelsea!... Gunners for life!...

The Task :
With time, essence and elements no more friendly in the task of searching for the ‘Lost Chronicle’ the four remaining contestants were asked to follow a path to the “point of contemplation”, solve the riddles that come their way and pick the letters necessary for their continuation until they get to the end and find the presenter, Bob-Manuel Udokwu waiting for them.

They followed it up and found the first riddle. It reads: “We are three soldiers on a single row: The first is standing at the beginning of KUYU-KUYU Island”. They picked the relevant letters and went to the second, after scaling through some obstacle and barrier. It reads: “The second is in the middle of OCEAN”. They went for the final of them all and it reads: “The third is at the end of JETTY”. When they put together the letters they picked, they all arrive at KEY as the correct answer.

Thepresenter at that point instructed them back to were the starting point again and fish out the clue given- KEY. Frank eventually found it after a long and hectic race and search. Linda was pained not to have discovered the key as she was also the very location Frank found it. It was the same giant-sized key that unlocked the golden age, originally discovered by Dominic Mudabai to emerge the Ultimate Man of GUS 1V at the rocky Shere Hills in Jos, Plateau state. What does it signify? A beautiful sign of sun set in Awgu Hills?

Four valuable treasures had so far been recovered in the ultimate search V-Treasure Chest, General Maxmillian Helmet, Hourglass and Golden Key. The next treasure might be the ‘Lost Chronicle’. Or what do you think? How finds it? Keep guessing until it is found. The search gets tougher and more interesting.
